But God

A Story of Healing, Purpose, and God’s Faithfulness

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” — Philippians 4:13

There are moments in life when people tell you what you can never become. They look at your circumstances, your limitations, or your struggles and make predictions about your future.

My story could have been defined by those predictions.

But God had other plans.

Early Challenges

When I was born, I couldn’t hear properly. At first, doctors didn’t recognize the problem, but eventually they discovered fluid in my ears. At three years old, I underwent surgery to drain the fluid and improve my hearing.

Because of those early hearing issues, I experienced developmental and learning challenges as I grew up. School was often difficult, and there were times when my future seemed uncertain.

One moment in particular stands out.

A counselor who was supposed to help me overcome those challenges told my mother that I would never amount to anything.

Those words could have become my identity.

But God.

God’s Plans Are Greater Than Man’s Predictions

While people saw limitations, God saw purpose.

While others predicted failure, God had already written a different story.

The Bible says:

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

— Jeremiah 29:11

Over the years, God continued to provide for me, guide me, and strengthen me. He showed me that my future would not be determined by someone’s opinion, but by His purpose for my life.

Looking back now, I can clearly see His hand at work through every challenge and every obstacle.

A Broken Arm and a Miracle

When I was seven years old, I broke my arm. The injury damaged the growth plate in my wrist, causing my left arm to become shorter than my right arm.

For years, I lived with the effects of that injury.

Then came another “But God” moment.

Years later, while attending a men’s retreat, I felt faith rise up in my heart. I believed that God could do what seemed impossible.

During the retreat, an elder prayed for me and boldly declared in the name of Jesus that my arm would grow out.

As he prayed, God performed a miracle.

My arm grew out and became equal in length.

What doctors could not repair, God restored.

The promise of Scripture became real in my life:

“For I will restore health to you and heal you of your wounds, declares the Lord.”

— Jeremiah 30:17

That day, I experienced the healing power of God firsthand.

Nothing Is Impossible With God

When I look back on my life, I don’t see a story of my own strength.

I see a story of God’s faithfulness.

I see a child who struggled to hear.

I see someone who was told he would never amount to anything.

I see a young boy with a damaged arm.

And in every chapter, I see God showing up.

The same God who healed, provided, and guided me is still working today.

As Scripture reminds us:

“For nothing will be impossible with God.”

— Luke 1:37

The Final Word

Many people will try to define you by your weaknesses, failures, or limitations.

Don’t believe them.

God has the final word.

My testimony is proof that God’s plans are greater than any diagnosis, challenge, or negative prediction spoken over your life.

Because of His faithfulness, I can boldly declare:

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

— Philippians 4:13

No matter what obstacle stands before you, trust God. Believe His promises. Walk in faith.

You may be facing an impossible situation today, but remember:

What looks impossible to man is possible with God.
